I'm Glad I Told Her

I’m Glad I Told Her

I’m glad I told her that I loved her
Before death closed its stony door
Glad the injuries were forgiven
They don’t seem to matter much any more.

I’m glad her end was peaceful
That she stayed independent to the last
No nursing home or hospital
Just lay down, and in her sleep she passed.

I’m glad I told her that I loved her
I’m glad my Mom became my friend
I’m glad I didn’t wait to love her
And to tell her so, before the end.
